What happend while we were in DC

I support efforts against this war, but not the anarchists in the photos up top (who weren't even in DC). FWIW, I also think it would be a mistake to try to impeach Bush (but it wouldn't break my heart if we succeeded). I don't have to agree with every opinion expressed during a march to support it in general.

As to vandalism, I looked at some of Gunslinger's links and those didn't appear to happen during protest marches. I don't recall denying anything, but the concept of protecting the wall seemed a bit of hysteria to me. Now I gather the Eagles have evolved beyond that, but I'm not sure towards what. The majority of Americans including quite a few veterans and conservatives are against this war - if you're attempting to portray us all as traitors, that's not gonna fly...

And remember, vandalism is itself a crime. So often, its political connotations get in the way. As far as I'm concerned, it would be no different if a group of pro-war activists spray-painted words of encouragement. Vandalism is a crime and should be punished, no matter by whom it is done, no matter to whom it is done.

You're the voice of reason here so do a little searching and see who is funding ANSWER and Code Pink. Then come back and tell us if these protests are really anit-war or if the are anit-America.

I see your point, it was my intent to differentiate those who are in support of the war in Iraq (not that they are "pro-war" in that they love to see bloodshed) and those who are against the war in Iraq.

But that said, I see your point, and to the extent I mis-spoke, I stand corrected.

And I do agree with Lan that a lot of the punks in those pictures are anarchists (if they even are anarchists, like I've said before a lot of them are just young punks who wouldn't be able to articulate a real idea anymore than they'd be able to crap gold bullion)and it's inaccurate to presume that all persons who are against the war in Iraq are of their ilk.

I told you, for the record I'm against what's we're doing in Iraq, but had I been in Washington that day, I would have most definitely hung with your crew. My niece is in the Army as we speak (she's guarding Italy from being invaded by Austria, but there's nothing to say she coudn't get shipped to Iraq at some point) and when I see a sign that says F-the troops....I mean, should they have the right to say it? Absolutely. But should the police be able to try out new tasers on them, to make sure they're working properly? You bet.

The way I see this is that every American has the right to believe what they want and the constitution gives every American the right to free speech. The constitution does not grant free crudeness or free civil disobediences, nor does it give non-citizens the right to speak out against our government.

I and a growing number of Americans believe that if any reasonable person liberal or conservative supports this organization they are traitors to our country. When the MSM provides coverage of these events they ignore the financial supporters and they gloss over the true purpose of the organization because it fits into their agenda. It?s a sad day for America when normally intelligent people like LAN let their hatred for a sitting President cloud their thinking to a point where they support traitorous acts.

Make no mistake there were many ?useful idiots? like LAN in the protest. It was interesting to see their eyes as they found themselves standing next to people holding Palestinian and Mexican flags, men dresses up as women, the black blockers with their shield and battery filled socks and young people who haven?t taken a bath or combed their hair for years yelling baby killer to a 60 year old Vietnam veteran in a wheelchair. I am sure during prior protests these ?useful idiots? were able to close their eyes to what the real purpose of the protest was because the number of true Americans there too counter was so small. But on March 17 we had 3 of us for every 1 of them and the traitorous hordes were in frenzy because they were scared shitless of us.

I know I may sound a bit radical but there will come a day soon where every American will have to make a choice to ether support this country and our way of life or let the forces of evil pull us apart.
